    About this Position / Responsibilities

    Under general direction, participates as high-level technical expert in design development, coding, testing, and debugging new software or significant enhancements to existing software. Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and develops specifications to resolve them. Resolves customer complaints and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. Participates in the development of software user manuals. May act as team leader on less complex projects. Assists in training less experienced software development staff.

     

    Duties/Responsibilities

    Designs and builds relational databases. Develops strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database. Works in a data warehouse environment, which includes data design, database architecture, metadata and repository creation. Translates business needs into long-term architecture solutions. Defines, designs, and builds dimensional databases. Develops data warehousing blueprints, evaluating hardware and software platforms, and integrating systems. Evaluates reusability of current data for additional analyses. Reviews object and data models and the metadata repository to structure the data for better management and quicker access.


    Responsibilities:
    • ODI (Oracle Data Integration) Developer (Interfaces)
    • Provide requirements analysis, functional and technical design documents for CC&B interfaces
    • Develop application integrations between CC&B and target/ source systems
    • Create and maintain interface definition and design documentation through the SDLC
    • Plan and execute interface testing activities

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science or related field preferred.
    • Should be able to make significant contributions to all aspects of WSSC's database usage, from architecture, to analysis and design, to research and development, to large-scale systems deployment.
    • 10+ years of relevant database engineering/architecture experience.
    • 5+ years of IT and data analysis, data management experience, enterprise architecture and enterprise data architecture, enterprise data management, data mode.
    • Experience with a data modeling tools such as ER-Win or Visio.
    • ODI (Oracle Data Integration) Developer (Interfaces)

     

    At least 1 year experience using ODI on release 10 or greater (r12 preferred), or 3 years’ experience with any ETL development tool. It is MUST.
    • Expert in PL/SQL and SQL, with minimum 5 years’ experience
    • Previous CC&B integration experience
    • Knowledge of CC&B data model
    • Knowledge of OUAF (Oracle Utilities Application Framework)
    • Understanding of utilities/ previous utility experience
    • Experience building and testing ODI mappings
