About this Position / Responsibilities

NFF is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to work with one of our premier DC customers. The Business Systems Analysts serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, focusing on complex projects to analyze business needs, design innovative systems solutions, and drive process improvements. This role often involves leadership, mentorship, and a high degree of autonomy in managing large, cross-functional projects. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Lead workshops and conduct in-depth interviews with stakeholders across various departments to understand, document, and prioritize complex business requirements and objectives.
  • Solution Design & Development Support: Translate high-level business needs into detailed functional specifications, user stories, and technical requirements for development teams. Collaborate with solution architects and developers to design and build effective, scalable solutions.
  • Project and Process Management: Act as a project lead on moderate to large projects, planning and monitoring timelines, budgets, and resources. Drive continuous improvement by analyzing existing business processes and identifying opportunities for optimization and automation.
  • Documentation & Communication: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including data flow diagrams, process maps, user manuals, and training materials. Communicate complex information and project status effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior management.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Design and execute thorough test plans and scenarios (e.g., UAT, performance testing) to ensure solutions are accurate, reliable, and compliant with requirements and quality standards.
  • Support & Training: Provide ongoing support for implemented systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and conduct user training sessions to ensure user adoption and proficiency.
  • Vendor Management: Interface with external vendors and manage their activities, including evaluating vendor submissions and ensuring vendor solutions align with business needs.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Provide guidance and technical leadership to other analysts and team members, contributing to the development of best practices within the organization. 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Required 11+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst
  • Required 11+ years’ experience with Software Development Lifecycl
  • Required 11+ years’ experience requirements gathering and documentation
  • Required11+ years’ experience with MS Office/PowerPoint
  • Required 5+ years’ experience as a business systems analyst or in a similar role, with demonstrated success in managing complex projects.
  • Required 5+ years’ experience in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), SQL, process modeling tools (e.g., Visio)
  • Required 11+ years’ experience with development methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum) and relevant platforms (e.g., Jira, MS Office, Salesforce) are highly valued

Education/Certifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, CS, IT or related field or equivalent experience
  • Professional Certification in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA, IIBA CBAP) or Project Management (PMP)
