About this Position / Responsibilities

NFF is seeking a full time ERP Database Lead Analyst to support the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA).  Hybrid work environment.  The selected candidate will be responsible for for ensuring that the ERP databases, such as the Peoplesoft Finance, Human Capital, Enterprise Learning, Financial Reporting, and related databases, are operating optimally.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and execute projects in support of WMATA's growing information demands;
  • Ensure the effective use of WMATA resources;
  • Contribute to policies for effective process planning as it relates to new requirements;
  • Plan, analyze, design, and submit reports and report interfaces intended for the end user employing relational databases such as SQL Server and Oracle;
  • Participate in short-term tactical planning;
  • Creating and managing databases. This includes creating new databases, managing existing databases, and deleting unused databases;
  • Managing users and security. This includes creating and managing user accounts, assigning permissions to users, and managing security policies;
  • Managing data. This includes importing and exporting data, backing up and restoring data, and optimizing data performance;
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting the database. This includes monitoring the database for performance problems, troubleshooting problems when they occur, and tuning the database for optimal performance;
  • Providing support to users. This includes answering user questions, resolving user problems, and training users on how to use the database.
  • Contribute to long-term strategic planning.

Qualifications

Required Skills: 

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems or related field
  • Proficient in the development of business information interfaces;
  • Knowledge of relational databases such as SQL Server and Oracle;
  • Experienced with large volumes of data;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; and
  • Ability to represent WMATA’s interests to other
  • Preferred Requirements:

  • Graduate-level degree in Computer Science.

  • Understanding of standard AIX, Linux Tools, and PHP
  • Knowledge of OLTP, OLAP, and Oracle, SQL Server
