About this Position / Responsibilities

NFF Inc is currently executing two strategic digital modernization initiatives: the Web Modernization Project and the SmarTrip Mobile App 2.0 Project. Both projects are actively underway and are critical to enhancing customer experience across NFF Inc's digital channels.

 

The Web Modernization Project includes the complete redevelopment of the front-end experience for key public web platforms, replacing an existing platform last significantly refreshed in 2016. While a separate vendor is responsible for front-end website implementation, NFF Inc requires resources to develop, integrate, test, and deploy supporting SmarTrip backend services and APIs required to enable new website functionality. The modernized platform will continue to serve as a primary digital channel for transit information, customer self-service, and SmarTrip account management.

The SmarTrip Mobile App 2.0 Project focuses on enhancing the existing iOS and Android SmarTrip Mobile app through new features and improvements designed to provide a more personalized, intuitive, and user-friendly customer experience. NFF Inc requires support for integration, development, configuration, testing, deployment, and production implementation of SmarTrip backend components that support the mobile app and related services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day management of the in-scope Web Applications project.
  • Coordinate project team activities with other teams and senior management.
  • Communicate with sponsoring organizations to assist with needs assessment and functional specifications.
  • Draft specifications and develop work plan definitions.
  • Manage tasks, overall deliverables, and status tracking.
  • Apply best practices and Agile project management methodologies appropriate to project scope.
  • Develop and manage the project schedule using MS Project.
  • Provide status reports and modify schedules or plans as required.
  • Prepare project reports for management, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Confer with project team members to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
  • Hold regular project meetings with stakeholders to monitor progress and communicate required actions.
  • Proactively solve problems to ensure milestones are met and projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Conduct and evaluate post-mortems to improve future projects.
  • Manage project issues, revise plans as needed, and communicate changes to project team members.
  • Maintain close contact with project sponsors to ensure shared vision, stakeholder buy-in, and project support.
  • Successfully complete mandatory NFF Inc security awareness training on an annual basis.
  • Review and assist with system hardening and vulnerability remediation.
  • Oversee mandatory peer code reviews with developers as part of the code commitment process to ensure secure coding practices are followed before code is merged into the main development branch.
  • Ensure pull request reviews are documented in Bitbucket.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3 years | Required - Experience leading complex web application projects in an Agile software development methodology.
  • 3 years | Required - Skill in utilizing Agile SDLC tools such as Cloud JIRA, JIRA, Confluence, TestRail, Bamboo, and Bitbucket to manage and control project tasks.
  • 2 years | Required - Experience performing the duties listed above in an information technology operation (C#, .NET, .NET Core).
  • 5 years | Required - Application hands-on experience with General Order Track Rights System and Site-Specific Work Plan applications.
  • Not specified | Required - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline.
